Join me and Victoria from Stokesay Flowers for a hands-on, immersive workshop designed to help you capture stunning images of florals and growing spaces.

What to Expect

We’ll start with the fundamentals of taking creative control of your camera, covering:

• Aperture, shutter speed, and ISO – understanding how these settings work together

• Light and composition – how to work with light to create compelling images

From there, we’ll take our cameras into Victoria and Barney’s stunning flower garden, applying what we’ve learned to various floral setups.

Practical Sessions

• Photograph floral arrangements using flowers from the garden

• Experiment with different backdrops, lighting conditions, and compositions

• Capture the beauty of the walled garden

• Use a selection of props and tools to tell a visual story through your images

For those interested, we will also explore how to use:

• Artificial light, diffusers, and reflectors to enhance your shots when needed

• Editing software – a brief introduction to editing 

What to Bring

The course is designed for cameras that allow aperture priority or manual mode, including DSLR, mirrorless, compact, or bridge cameras.

• Need a camera? A Nikon can be provided on request.

• If you have a tripod, bring it along! (We’ll also have some available to borrow.)

Extras

A workshop handout summarising key concepts will be provided.
