Photography and videography day for florists, growers and makers - using phone cameras

(we also have a day for DSLR/mirrorless cameras on the Tuesday)

 10am-4pm, Wednesday 6th May 2026

Location: Woodhill Park Estate, Shropshire - a stunning 18th-century Estate owned by Syrie Johnson and Nicolas Biegman. It is a fabulous place to practice photography. It is full of stunning flower gardens, sculptures, historic glasshouses and has beautifully converted stables where we will be based for the day. We will use the interiors to learn how you can set up your own photographic spcae.

Cost: £150 to include two course lunch

What to Expect

We’ll start with the fundamentals of taking creative control of your phone camera, covering:

  • Looking into the settings that can be changed on phones - to you help take better images and video

  • Light and composition – how to work with light and composition to create compelling images

Practical Sessions

  • Practice how to set up the best photographic area in your workspace

  • Photograph subjects (both inside and outside) experimenting with different backdrops, lighting conditions, and compositions

  • Use a selection of props to tell a visual story through your images

We will also explore how to use:

  • Artificial light, diffusers, and reflectors to enhance your shots when needed

  • Editing software – a hands on introduction to editing 

What to Bring


The course is designed for those using phone cameras of any type - no matter how old! Remember to free up space in the memory. More tips on how to prepare for the day will be sent out before the course.

There will be workshop handouts based on the main concepts that we cover on the day

A full refund will be given if you need to cancel your place up to 21 days before the event. If you need to cancel after that, and we can find a replacement in time, you will also receive a full refund
